YOUR SAFETY IS OUR CONCERN:
Our practise now includes two air purifiers with UV-C and HEPA filters. The UV-C light is a form of Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation, capable of killing bacteria, viruses, mould and other pathogens.
The HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter is capable of removing particles as small as 0.3 microns which are invisible to the eye; this includes protection against the COVID-19 or Corona virus. The filter is also able to trap pollen, pet dander, dust mites and tobacco smoke.
Custom Eyes specialises in prosthetic eyes and offers services for facial prosthetics, contact lens design and fitting, (scleral lenses, hard contact lenses , toric contact lenses and multifocal contact lenses) as well as general optometry which includes the diagnosis and management of ocular conditions.
We at Custom Eyes know that the most natural appearance can be achieved only when the new prosthetic eye matches all characteristics of the remaining eye. The new eye needs to match the companion eye as closely as possible.
Beyond matching the colour of the iris, our focus is also on positioning the iris precisely.
The shading and subtle tones of the sclera (white of the eye) are details we pay close attention to as well as duplicating any minor pigment marks and veins that may be present to recreate the look of the natural eye and its ability to reflect light.
Devoted attention is invested in creating an artful and realistic eye through a combination of delicate hand-painted detailing and the most advanced technology.
Simply put, the new eye needs to match the companion eye!
The practice is in Northcliff, Randburg within a relaxed garden setting.
The manufacturing process of a prosthetic eye takes approximately 6 to 7 hours in a relaxed garden setting. Come watch a wide variety of birds, read under the trees or admire the landscaped garden and water feature as the prosthetic eye is crafted!
At Custom Eyes, we endeavour to provide all our patients with the most natural looking and comfortable ocular prosthesis available using the latest techniques, technology and equipment.
We envision helping those in need of a prosthetic eye in an manner that empowers and supports them through their journey while providing a comfortable and high quality service.
